I love that hunting heron shot!

I think your instincts are right about the ISO settings but tbh I don’t see any blowouts at all.

I didn't share the photos with blowouts. I took a lot more.

Art Ducko!

I love it -- sounds like a muppet game show host, who filled in for shows when Guy Smiley was unavailable😁

Guy Smiley! The perfect name for a benign talking head. That's who I assumed NPR radio correspondent Steve Inskeep looked like, until I saw him on TV.

Really nice variety of images and bird species, Thomas. Those photos of the juvenile Bald Eagle and duck show the scale and size difference well. I am always impressed by the size of Bald Eagles when I have a chance to see one relatively close. Thanks for sharing.

What a wonderful sequence of photos—and of such a variety of species! That Shoveler, those Pintail, the merg’s hairdo, and of course the Bufflehead. Not to mention the eagle. Amazing shots. I’ve only witnessed an eagle get a duck once and I was floored.

I also appreciate the mention of my recent post! Thank you. As a meathead Id be remiss not to commend you for riding a bike after lifting—doing anything at all. Sometimes the mere act of getting up from a chair feels Sisyphean.

Thank you, James! I used to deadlift 555lb but I don't lift heavy anymore, I only have 50lb dumbbells so I rep it out. At least until my 125lb adjustables arrive, hopefully next month. At 53, my recovery is much better than it used to be, because I eat better, sleep better, and don't drink often. But we'll see what I say once I'm lifting 250lb vs 100lb... I'll probably be doing a lot more birdwatching on slow walks instead of riding!
