On an evolutionary scale, the notion that vultures have taken to eating rubber must be a relatively recent adaptation.

But somehow, it's more disturbing than the untold millennia they've spent munching carrion 😄

I'm not sure they eat it. I think they just like to tear it off! Not sure why they flock there, it doesn't seem like a high roadkill area. But they've been there both times, like a biker gang in a 70s movie

Another fine essay. Good to be reminded that awe is a renewable resource. I hope I never stop reacting to beauty with a deep satisfying sigh.
