"...cyberattack on the local co-ops..." WTH??? Do we suspect Big Grocery is behind this?
If you're looking for outstanding nature writing about wolves, I highly recommend Rick McIntyre's whole series on the reintroduction of wolves to Yellowstone, a project for which he worked for much of his career. He never insults the animals by descending into anthropomorphism but does give them their due as sentient, emotional creatures. Superb, non-fiction storytelling.
I met him when I took my kid to see wolves in Yellowstone a few years ago! My mom had given my kid a couple of those books. A little old for them but they have been slowly enjoying them over the years. And Rick was so generous and thoughtful. We just happened to be there at the same time, 5am as the wolf-watchers do, and he spent a lot of time talking with my kid, asking them questions and answering theirs. Seems to be a truly great person all around, to wolves and humans.
Everything except the coffee (and maybe that overwrought book) sounds magnificent. Even the exploded scotch egg.
Eeeeep!!! To the porpoises!!! Can’t wait to see the pics.

Wow. What a great experience. Thanks gor sharing.
The peatlands of Scotland probably have enough depth to sink generations of bodies.
Would love to know what you think when you finish the McConaghy book! I am always curious what people thought about the end.
